About the Society

A professional body bringing neurosurgeons and neuroscience specialists of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh into one academic fraternity.

Who We Are

One academic body for two states

The Society of Neuroscientists is the professional association of neurosurgeons and neuroscience specialists practising across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Neurosurgery in Central India has grown from a handful of centres into a network of departments across medical colleges, government hospitals and private institutions. The society exists so that growth is matched by a shared academic standard — a place where consultants and residents from both states meet, present, question and learn from one another.

Its work is deliberately unglamorous and continuous: scientific meetings that hold to evidence, training that reaches residents outside the metros, and a peer forum where difficult cases and honest outcomes can be discussed without hierarchy.

Our Mission

To advance the practice, teaching and science of neurosurgery and the allied neurosciences in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh — so that a patient with a neurological condition receives the same standard of care in every district of both states.

Our Vision

A Central India where neurosurgical training, research and outcomes stand comparison with any region of the country — built by its own faculty, its own residents and its own institutions.

Our Objectives

What the society commits to

1. Academic Exchange

To hold regular scientific meetings, conferences and continuing medical education programmes for members across both states.

2. Training Support

To support neurosurgical residents and young consultants through workshops, mentorship and structured skills training.

3. Research Culture

To encourage original clinical research from the region and create a platform where it can be presented and published.

4. Professional Standards

To uphold ethical practice, patient safety and professional conduct among its membership.

5. Collaboration

To work with medical colleges, hospitals, national bodies and allied specialties in the interest of neurological care.

6. A Collective Voice

To represent the interests of the neurosciences fraternity of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh where representation is needed.

Governance

Led by an elected governing body

The affairs of the society are conducted by office bearers and an executive committee elected from among its members, serving fixed terms.

The President chairs the society and its scientific programme; the Secretary runs the secretariat and member communication; the Treasurer holds accounts and reports them to the general body.
